Job Title: Senior Management Accountant

Our client is a multinational Engineering, Metals recycling and Power generation group headquartered in London with a global presence in over 30 countries across 6 continents. With wider group turnover of over $15bn and over 10,000 employees in the UK alone, our client offers great career progression prospects.

Due to their rapid growth, our client has created a group reporting function that is now based at their corporate office in the heart of Central London. This small team is driving change and improvements within the corporate finance process, systems and standards.

The Ideal Candidate:

Due to the dynamic nature of the Group business and the speed of growth, individuals need to be equally as flexible and dynamic in their approach. To be successful, team members will not be phased by immature processes and they will possess a resilience derived from experience of working within similar environments. Communication skills will be outstanding, as well as well-honed IT ability.

The role: Consolidating UK-business financial performance, budgets and forward looking forecasts, and provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of performance.

Building the financial models and the reporting and analysis of business unit operational KPIs and metrics.

Identify, analyses and communicate current trends and their impact on forward-looking financial forecasts and investigate variances against historic and forecasted results to facilitate decision-making towards the Group strategic plan.

Liaise with business units concerning the creation, handling, processing or receiving of reports to gather requirements for improvements. Monitor data trends in all reports and work closely with regional budget owners to ensure a comprehensive and quality forecast.

Identify opportunities and implement solutions in the organisation by identifying process deficiencies, offering scalable solutions and driving cross-departmental collaboration to implement those solutions.

Design and deliver management reports as per agreed schedule, and support the business and corporate leadership ensuring robust budgeting & forecasting tools to support informed business decisions.

Own the delivery of the month-end and quarterly reporting including management packs, revenue performance reviews, variance analysis and succinct and contextual commentary for submission to the Senior Leadership team.

Ad hoc duties as required by the business.

Key Skills Required:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 1-4 years post-qualification experience.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills - excel, power point, word etc.
  • Experienced in using reporting and consolidations tool INFOR or equivalent.
  • Experience working within a group reporting function is essential.
  • Expert in IFRS/UK GAAP and USGAAP
  • You will be technically strong, commercially minded, able to build quick and effective working relationships and also able to understand and communicate complex technical financial matters to senior/ non-financial people.
