The Company

Brewster Pratap are supporting an educational organisation in the appointment of an interim group finance director for an initial 6 month period. They are passionate about delivering dynamic learning whilst contributing to the economic growth of the region. This newly created senior post will play a major role in the implementation, design and delivery of the new group strategy, help shape the organisation to deliver its ambitious plans and help secure future successes.

The Role

* Develop and lead upon a finance strategy to ensure financial resources are effectively and efficiently directed in support of sustainable strategic and operational plans for the Group.

* Prepare an annual budget for the Group and to maintain long term financial forecasts, and to actively lead and manage the Group's financial performance against plans.

* Maintain and develop timely and accurate financial reporting across the Group, including the preparation of annual financial statements for the Group and its subsidiary trading companies.

* Lead and manage treasury management for the Group, including effective cash flow management and forecasting, investment management, and to secure and service financing in support of the Group's development plans.

* Maintain and develop an effective framework of financial management and control of the Group's assets and liabilities and to fulfill all relevant statutory and other requirements of the funding bodies, banks, HMRC and auditors.

* Maintain and develop the Group's finance and funding systems, ensuring robust data and strict controls, efficient workflows in support of operations, and timely monitoring and intervention.

* Lead and manage effective and efficient procurement for the Group and to promote the achievement of value of money across all areas of Group operations.

* Lead on risk management for the Group, ensuring an effective framework of control is maintained and that risk assurance is effectively operated and reported across the Group.

* Maintain and develop key relationships with external bodies including regulatory and funding bodies, banks, auditors, insurers and other professional advisors.

The Person

* A full qualification from a major accountancy body e.g. ACCA, CIPFA

* Experience of outstanding leadership in a senior management role

* Experience at a senior level in education institution

* A proven ability to be an inspirational leader, which inspires trust and motivates others to succeed
