Reporting into the Head of Corporate Audit, you will provide objective assurance as to the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management, control and corporate governance processes by contributing to the delivery of a professional risk based internal audit plan, working in partnership with the business.

Description
Provide all levels of management within the business with assurance as to the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management, control and corporate governance processes.
The role is required to be familiar with operational structure and responsibilities of each function within the company.
Principal Accountabilities
Deliver a risk based internal audit plan in conjunction with other Group internal audit functions to provide a joined up and professional risk assurance and internal audit service to the business, on time and on budget.
Liaise with Group Internal Audit to ensure the internal audit plan satisfies Group-wide requirement.
Perform audit work to a high standard, in line with requirements.
Take responsibility for monitoring audit actions delivery within the business.
Build relationships across the business to become a trusted advisor and critical friend providing independent
assurance and advice.
Promote the continuous improvement of risk management and control processes by developing a proactive, customer - focused relationship with management, ensuring that issues identified are resolved.
Manage own workload including planning the scope, aim and objective of each review/project, with a view to ensuring that key risk areas are assessed and evaluated.
Develop pragmatic and cost-effective recommendations for business issues arising from work undertaken.
Communicate key issues and solutions to management by producing clear, concise and timely reports,
presentations, etc.
Develop and enhance technical, inter-personal and managerial skills and business awareness.
Perform ad hoc reviews as requested by the Head of Corporate Audit.
Ensuring that a robust audit plan is developed to identify the key risk areas within the business and then thoroughly
test the internal control procedures in place to mitigate these key risks.
The findings should be reported to management with practical and cost-effective recommendations to identified
control weaknesses and operational inefficiencies in order to improve the control environment, but additionally to
improve the functionality of each area of the business.
Profile
Knowledge and Experience
Internal audit experience is essential
Qualified accountant or internal auditor
Good analytical skills, together with an attention to detail
Self-motivated and well organised
Good communication skills & ability to deal with individuals at all levels.
