Assistant Accountant

An all-encompassing and busy role for an experienced finance professional to take responsibility for the finance function of this established and growing FMCG based in Ely as an Assistant Accountant. Within this role the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for the transactional elements of the accounts as well as the production of the management accounts.

Description

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:

• Operating in a stand alone position with the responsibility for the accounts of the business
• The transactional processing of the purchase ledger
• Bank, balance sheet and supplier statement reconciliations
• Assisting with both internal and external audits
• Running both weekly and monthly payment runs
• Running the payroll in an accurate and timely manner across the business
• Producing month end accounts and analysis to be shared with wider teams in the business
• Regularly liaise with the business directors
• Assist with the year end processes by producing draft year end accounts

Profile

The Assistant Accountant will be:

• Level 4 AAT qualified
• Actively pursuing or looking to pursue their CIMA or ACCA
• Experienced user of SAGE
• Previous experience operating in a fast paced and commercial environment
• Confident in communicating with senior members of the business on a regular basis
• Comfortable working in a stand alone role
• A driven individual who has a proven record of working on their on initiative
