The role:

We are seeking to recruit a Supply Chain Specialist for the Grant Thornton Business Consulting team, within the advisory consulting practice.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and motivated person to join our Business Consulting team. This will be a challenging and fulfilling role, where you will be a key member of business consulting team which conducts work in areas such as strategic planning, organisation review and design, business process improvement, operations excellence, project and change management.

The role is to support the delivery of a variety of engagements, contribute to project team success on assignments, including dealing with client issues, and provide updates to the Partner. The successful candidate will be exposed to a variety of jobs, and will be given the opportunity to take ownership of specific projects. The role will provide an excellent prospect to build a long term and sustainable career.

Main responsibilities:

  • supporting business development initiatives;
  • managing client and stakeholder expectations on an ongoing basis;
  • working onsite with clients implementing programmes of change, including but not limited to:
    • Ensuring the effective operation of the Supply Chain Planning, Procurement and Warehouse functions, to provide timely delivery of materials and finished goods;
    • Ensuring that the Supply Chain function operates in full compliance with Environmental Health and Safety Standards, Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Shipping, Customs and all other relevant regulations; and
    • Leading the design, development and implementation of a supply chain strategy.
  • preparing formal reports and report presentations;
  • ensuring assigned projects and tasks meet required deadlines;
  • overseeing industry research and thought leadership covering the key market sectors/target clients;
  • supporting the consulting team in developing the Grant Thornton offering in various sectors; and
  • the preparation of proposals for new client work.

Requirements:

  • Third level qualification in a supply chain, business or an engineering discipline with Supply Chain Management experience, preferably in a regulated environment
  • Masters in Supply Chain or APICS accredited qualification would be desirable
  • Recognised project management qualifications – would be desirable
  • Minimum of 4 years in a Supply Chain or consulting role
  • A track record of implementing Supply Chain Improvements and successful change management
  • A deep understanding of how regulatory and trade issues impact on the supply chain
  • experience of working in and / or with large scale organisations
  • excellent understanding of general business practices
