Funds and Systems Accountant
Birchwood, Warrington
£39,000 to £41,000 per annum
Bonus incentive on completion of contract and successful delivery of projects.
The Land Trust is an independent charity dedicated to the management of green spaces for community benefit. We provide a cost effective solution for public open spaces, which delivers significant benefits such as health improvements, social cohesion, economic uplift and educational resources. We have an opportunity for an experienced Accountant to work on specific projects for a period of approximately 18 months.
Experience and knowledge
- A recognised senior accountancy qualification- ACA, ACCA,CIMA or other equivalent
- Experience of Charity accounting.
- Excellent and up to date knowledge of Accounting Standards, Charity SORP, preparing consolidated accounts and trading subsidiaries
- Reconciliations and investigation experience
- Systems implementation experience
To deliver the following specific projects:
- Investment accounting by fund
- Charity fund accounting and reconciliation
- Leading nominal ledger implementation project
The role requires liaison with senior members of the Finance team and the wider Land Trust staff, as appropriate.

- Experience of project management and comfortable with a deadline driven environment
- A self-starter who is pro-active and can work on initiative and can set and achieve goals
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and good attention to detail
- Ability to critically appraise work performed, in the context of expected outcomes
- Able to establish strong credibility, trust and inspire confidence
- Advanced IT and Excel skills
