Are you an internal audit professional, with a keen eye for detail, able to provide challenge and add value to systems of governance, internal control and risk management to effectively contribute to the achievement of the Audit and Assurance Plan? 

This is a busy and exciting time for TfGM: under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.

The Audit and Assurance team has a challenging and wide ranging programme of work covering TfGM’s key priorities and strategic, operational and financial areas of activity.   To help deliver this programme, the Principal Auditor will have a varied portfolio of audits to perform and self-manage within a fast paced environment, meeting professional audit standards.

We are therefore seeking an enthusiastic, confident, conscientious and hardworking individual with the necessary experience and professional background to fulfil this role and become an important member of the Audit and Assurance team.   You will have significant experience in all aspect of the internal audit process, from planning through to reporting, and knowledge of internal audit principles, practices and standards. You will have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to present your findings to senior internal colleagues to secure change and improvement to TfGM’s systems of governance.

The salary range for this role is £39,643  to £44,620.  Salary on appointment will be dependent upon your skills and experience.
