An opportunity has arisen for an Accountant to join a FTSE 100 property business based in central London.

Client Details

My client is one of the largest residential property development companies in the UK with a multi-billion pound asset portfolio. The firm is part of the FTSE 100 and headquartered in central London.

Description

Key responsibilities for the Accountant will include:

  • Contribute to the delivery of the Group Overheads Budget and Forecast to CEO and CFO
  • Assist in preparing the overhead group budget document delivered to the board.
  • Responsible for supporting budget holders in preparing their overhead budget templates
  • Responsible for monthly consolidation of overhead budget templates and providing commentary on major movements
  • Preparation of monthly overhead management accounts packs for the board and other senior executives
  • Monthly meetings with Budget holders to discuss overheads resulting in preparation and posting of journals.
  • Regular monthly journal postings.
  • Prepare monthly headcount report for CFO.
  • Ensure all confidential data, in particular payroll data, is dealt with professionally and discreetly.
  • Responsible for day to day transaction for Trustee based pension scheme and VAT return.
  • Monthly Balance sheet reconciliations for creditors and overhead cost centres covering prepayments, accruals and payroll control accounts.
  • Assist with half year and year end group reporting which involves but not limited to creditors analytical review, staff costs, valuer's and auditor's remuneration.
  • Undertake ad-hoc analysis and projects as required.
  • Liaise with other finance teams to provide guidance on issues with Overheads transactions and budgets as they arise.
  • Be familiar with, and keep abreast of, IFRS requirements in particular those relating to Employee Costs, Pensions and Share-Based Payments.

Profile

The successful Accountant will have the following:

  • Professional finance qualification - either ACA/ACCA or CIMA
  • Cost/overheads accounting experience highly desirable
  • Experience working within a large corporate desirable
  • Management Accounting experience desirable
  • Experience within the real estate and property sector highly desirable
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Strong communication skills - the ability to interact with senior managers
