The team currently has two opportunities in the Litigation team at the Senior & Principal Solicitor level. The Litigation team is a busy and dynamic team that provides advice and assistance across the organisation on a wide range of issues, including in respect of significant disputes, inquiries, investigations and the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry.

The successful candidates will be responsible for advising on litigation, enforcement and regulatory issues relating to APRA's functions and powers. You will provide advice to clients across APRA on a range of complex issues that are often novel and untested.

The successful candidates will have demonstrated experience as a client-focused lawyer with an ability to work individually and as a member of a team. You will have very good communication and negotiation skills, being able to articulate reasonably complex legal concepts in a manner appropriate to a variety of audiences.

Ideally, you will have post-admission experience in government or private practise with experience in litigation, along with administrative law and government legal issues. You will need to be able to provide high quality advice, prioritise and manage a reasonably complex and challenging workload, and have a flexible and practical approach to problem solving.

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) regulates the Australian banking, insurance and superannuation industries, and is funded largely by the industries that it supervises.
