Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Work as part of the overall Finance department.
  • Work closely with other functional departments including HR, Cemeteries, Museum, Fundraising,

          Finance Day to Day duties

  • To lead on all accounts payable functions, including processing, obtaining approvals, resolving invoice issues, production of aged creditor reports, supplier statement reconciliations and all relevant reports for three companies
  • To prepare expenditure, departmental, project and cost control analysis reports as directed by the Assistant Financial Controller
  • To assist in month end close procedures including the preparation of purchase invoice accrual reports
  • To prepare credit card expenditure analysis reports
  • To assist in asset management procedures including the preparation of fixed asset and stock reports
  • To assist in sales invoicing and credit control as required
  • To participate in the operational tasks of the finance team in an efficient, effective and timely manner, as directed by the Assistant Financial Controller and the Chief Financial Officer
  • To assist in the internal audit function as required for three companies as directed by the Assistant Financial Controller and/or Chief Financial Officer
  • To support the payroll function as required in conjunction with HR

          General

  • To deal with ad-hoc queries from staff, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders
  • To assist the Assistant Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer in the production of Ad Hoc reports when requested
  • To follow all financial policies and procedures     
  • To be responsible for the collation and filing of financial documents
  • To carry out all duties with due regard for all Glasnevin Trust  Policies and Procedures
  • To carry out any other duties commensurate with the post and the needs of the organisation  

          Flexibility

  • You may be asked to perform other duties which are not included above but which are relevant to your area of work. In addition, you may be asked to help out colleagues in other areas of the Trust from time to time. As a result of technological advancement, regulatory changes and sectorial developments, the workplace will continue to change over time, with new systems and new work practices being introduced as needed. Your duties will evolve over time as the needs of the organisation and the environment in which it is operating evolves.  In addition, your duties may evolve in line with your own development in your role.

Person Requirements

  • An accountancy technician qualification and/or a professional accountancy trainee
  • We may consider supporting the right candidate in their professional studies
  • At least two years working in a finance role
  • Competence using all Microsoft systems, in particular advanced Excel skills and accountancy packages
