The Falkland Islands Government is seeking a Head of Finance for a two year contract initially, with an option for extension by mutual agreement. This is an opportunity to lead and develop the finance function, along with a team of 13 staff (four direct reports).
You will be responsible for the full breadth of core finance functions, budget management, financial forecasting, financial accounts, controls, system improvement as well as leading your team.
The successful applicant will be a qualified CCAB (or CIMA) accountant, with significant post qualification experience. The role requires an ability to lead a team of professional finance staff, budget management & control, technical understanding and an ability to be flexible and see through improvements. You must be a strong team player and be able to develop effective working relationships across a diverse organisation, and with external stakeholders.
We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include substantially lower taxes than the UK, eligibility for a 25% gratuity upon satisfactory completion of the contract, a relocation grant and a yearly flight package to the country of recruitment for successful applicant and any qualifying family members who accompany them to take up the post. In addition there are 41 days leave per annum (inclusive of 11 public holidays).
