Description

As a VAT Accountant based from the Farnham Surrey office you will be responsible for

Tasks and responsibilities

VAT

  • Responsibility for the Group VAT return - preparation and review of all entities in the VAT group, submission of returns and maintenance of payments
  • Responsibility for all other VAT related submissions eg EU Sales list, Intrastat
  • VAT compliance (the monitoring and addressing of VAT risks
  • Engagement with Group VAT compliance manager, internal staff, customers and suppliers
  • Responsibility for the Export Administration Team - service levels, compliance, system/process improvement and review of refund documentation
  • Responsibility for Self-billing agreements - developing the current system and standardising a process
  • Stakeholder in 'Making Tax Digital' project to ensure the business is compliant with forthcoming HMRC legislative changes

CORPORATION TAX

  • Support the Group Corporation tax team as an interface with the finance team to service information requirements
  • Responsibility for tax related balance sheet accounts

EMPLOYMENT TAXES - PAYE/NI

  • Involvement in production, submission and payment of PAYE Settlement Agreement, and P11d's
  • Responsibility for PAYE/NI balance sheet control accounts

GENERAL

  • Servicing and supporting ad-hoc HMRC enquiries

Profile

  • Proven VAT/TAX experience
  • Part Qualified, Finalist or Qualified by experience are all fine
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with both customers and colleagues
  • Proactive approach to examining existing practices and contributing to their enhancement
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience of Microsoft Navision would be an advantage but not essential

Job Offer

£30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience, Study Support Package, 23 days holiday
