Our client is a key player in the Retail Industry and is currently looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to lead and manager a divisional budget and provide stakeholders with key performance reports to enable decision making.

Our client is a key player in the Retail industry based in Somerset. They are currently embarking on a new strategy and looking to add a new Commercial Finance Manager to the team.

Description

Reporting into the Divisional Director, the Commercial Finance Manager will be responsible for helping to drive efficiencies across the division and assist with the short, medium and long term strategy:

  • Manage team to deliver retail budget to enable execution of trading efficiencies and deliver commercial targets;

  • Maintain effective internal relationships with key teams who influence retail operations activity to ensure impacts on retail budgeting / labour and scheduling are considered;
  • Create quarterly financial forecasts and analyse performance measures to identify opportunities to save costs, avoid spend or maximise performance against targets to meet commercial targets;
  • Influence and manage ad-hoc report requests from Retail Leadership Team through questioning and understanding requirements. Coach and support team to deliver the most appropriate solution;
  • Upskill and develop wider retail team to manage labour effectively and increase performance;
  • Develop and utilise an external network and maintain expert knowledge of performance drivers and operation efficiencies for benchmarking and to deliver best practice and new thinking into future plans;
  • Create the conditions that deliver a highly competent, energetic, engaged and motivated workforce of who are committed and aligned to delivery outcomes.

Profile

The successful candidate will have:

  • An accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Strong Business Partnering skills;
  • Significant experience of budgeting and financial analysis;
  • Good experience of presenting data in an engaging way, to a range of audiences, through a range of different methods;
  • Excellent prioritisation skills with ability working under pressure;
  • Good knowledge of operations processes and procedures;
  • Wider business and commercial awareness - other functions, scope, challenges, remits and how they interface with Retail;
  • Good Leadership skills, ability to influence, challenge, work collaboratively and engage teams at all levels;
  • Knowledge of the retail industry ideally.
