The CIB (Corporate &Investment Bank) technology team supports the CIB business in Asia Pacific. Theteam consists of approximately 65 people based in Sydney. The team has recentlybeen re-aligned to work in a dynamic project allocation model meaning thatresources are assigned to projects based on availability and skill competenciesrather than being aligned to working with specific systems or processes. Thismethodology fosters cross pollination of knowledge across the whole team.
The individual will beresponsible for the analysis and construction of software solutions of varioustechnology projects for CIB in APAC across the complete line of business.
The immediate focus forthe role is to take ownership of a key business facing initiative providingcritical business processing capabilities for client processing and subsequentreporting.
KeyResponsibilities:
Technical leadership for the team in terms of managing delivery for the team
Lead the evolution of development standards and practices across the team, and contribute to the evolution of standards across the broader IT team
Prepare technical specification based on approved business requirements document ensuring compliance with current architecture. Identify and escalate gaps in the current architecture that the new solution may expose
Designing software and producing scalable and resilient technical designs.
Comfortable with BAU support and escalations around testing support, environments and release management
Manage stakeholder relationships spanning business, project management and technology teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects and enhancements.
Develop software according to technical requirements
Practice Test Driven Development/Behavioral Driven Development
Proactively monitor progress of projects and software development activities, and be a point of escalation for any challenges that arise
Identify and negotiate solutions to technical challenges
Provide support for the solution throughout the project
Support current production applications as required
Follow JP Morgan's project delivery framework and internal system development procedure and standards
Experience with SQL and RDBMS systems, Sybase is preferred but experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server is acceptable.
Experienced in using automated testing tools - Junit, JBehave, Cucumber, Selenium
Subversion, Git or similar version control management system.
Expertise in Linux is required.
Knowledge of the finance and investment industries is a plus.
Experience in Agile practices highly regarded.(Lean, Scrum, TDD, BDD, XP, etc)
Tertiary qualification with a major in Information Technology
