They're currently looking to appoint a Finance Manager in to their small team, after the departure of their current Financial Controller, this position can be full or part time.
Description
The role of Finance Manager is to provide the company with an efficient, professional, accurate and supportive finance function. The purpose of this role is to deliver integrated financial and business support across the company in order to pursue financial sustainability and financial integrity.
Preparation of accounts
- Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports;
- Responsibility for all journals and final GL balances including review of month end balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts;
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Company's accounting records and financial systems.
- Production of statutory accounts for the Company in accordance with the relevant accounting principles and the legislation.
- Play a full part in providing relevant & timely financial information to the Board to enable a balanced and objective assessment of the Company's strategy and objective
Budgets, forecasts & income generation
- Preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans and continued monitoring & review of performance against them to enable robust reporting of variances to the Board and third party stakeholders;
- Work closely with the key stakeholders to consider income generation projects and provide financial modelling and analysis needed to understand the relevant financial and operational implications.
Financial management & controls
- Effectively manage the working capital components of the Company with specific attention to creditors, debtors and cash balances.
- Active management of overheads whilst seeking out areas for efficiencies for savings;
- Review and update, in line with good practice, the Company's internal control environment and maintain a Controls and Procedures manual for review and adoption by management;
- Play an active role in assisting management in the risk assessment process and embedding a risk management culture throughout the organisation.
Taxation
- Support the Board in the development and execution of the Company's taxation strategy;
- Ensure returns for Corporation tax, VAT and other relevant taxes are submitted, payments made on time and all relevant regulations are complied with.
Leadership and Management
- Effectively manage, motivate and develop the Finance department;
- Articulate future Finance team requirements up to three years ahead, and produce departmental work plans devised from organisation strategy and business plans;
- Implementation of a change management culture by challenging & replacing established processes and procedures where necessary.
- Liaise with different departments to ensure the Finance department is properly supporting the needs of the business.
Profile
The ideal candidate for the Finance Manager position:
- A qualified accountant or qualified by experience.
- Experience of working in the charity sector.
- Experience of working in an autonomous finance position, supporting the CEO.
- Ability and attitude to work at all levels within finance, from setting organisation strategy, budget setting to processing payroll.
Job Offer
By joining the organisation as Finance Manager, you will receive:
- Starting salary of £33,000-35,000, within a banding up to £38,000.
