Diverse SME (circa £18m turnover) have a newly created position available for a hands-on Finance Manager who enjoys variety and challenge.

The remit will encompass all aspects of the day to day financial control and financial reporting, reporting to the Finance Director. You will manage a team of 7 people across transactional finance and business administration areas and be an individual who enjoys coaching and leading others.

You will be involved in management accounting, budgeting, systems improvement and development of more robust financial controls, streamlining month end.

The FD is not expecting everything on day 1! You will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the current processes over the first 3 - 6 months before working through bitesize projects aimed at continuous improvement across all areas of finance.

You will need:

• To have a measured and patient approach. The business is growing and there are a range of projects that need to be completed ultimately designed to improve the controls and processes, slicken month end and develop the MI pack.
• To be someone who enjoys leadership and management with a capability to support others to develop.
• IT competency with experience of various accounting systems and Excel.
• To be able to contribute to producing and delivering management accounts to non finance audiences.
• To be someone who enjoys change and challenge - this role is not about maintaining the status quo.
• AAT qualified or equivalent ideally.
