Our client is one of the largest banks in the world. It is a successful, multinational bank and financial services company which specialises in Investment solutions and Corporate and Institutional banking. On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a PEP Specialist for a 6 Month contract based in London.

Purpose of the Role:

This team will be working around 3 main themes: Prioritization of the on-boarding with a key priority to new Tier1 potential, Coordination of the whole process (Risk, Legal and Systems) and production of the KYC (Collection, Conformity and Analysis). This team is also in charge of the recertification, annual review, process. The team will be worldwide and must work as "one team" to ensure a cutting edge on-boarding service to clients. This team will work closely with major functions as well as "Métiers" sales head (FI and GECD). Overall, through a dedicated on-boarding team and a single point of contact, the team is responsible for the client satisfaction with respect to on-boarding.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • As part of the Review exercise of the existing PEP population within CIB UK, consideration should be given to the appropriate steps that should be taken in assessing the existing information (and evidence) already obtained, but also what steps should be taken to plug any immediate gaps.

The following is a list of steps to consider for PEP review ;

  • Look up the name of the individual in a PEP screening tool (Vigilance, World-check, Factiva etc.)
  • If there is a hit, does the role meet the definition in the UK KYC Manual or Global PEP Policy?
  • Does the role (that qualifies them as a PEP) have influence?
  • Does the individual still perform the role that qualifies them as a PEP?
  • If not, consider the length of time out of office (in line with Policy requirements)
  • Consider if they have a new role
  • If out of office, determine if they can be de-classified as per the UK Manual De-classification requirements (section 6.7 - see below)
  • If the individual is classified due to working in a prominent position for a SOE, check if the SOE has changed ownership (e.g. privatised)
  • Determine what role the PEP has at the Client (Beneficial Owner, Executive Director [SMO], Non-Exec, Signatory, PoA etc.)
  • Review existing information on client file relating to the PEP
  • Determine if there is sufficient background information on the PEP

The Candidate:

  1. Proven experience in carrying out in-depth PEP reviews
  2. Strong corporate/investment banking experience
  3. Knowledge of JMLSG UK guidance notes
  4. Able to demonstrate excellent knowledge of PEP and due diligence.

We will carry out screening on your knowledge prior to confirming shortlist.
