HNZ has established itself as a premier helicopter service provider in offshore and utility operations in New Zealand, Australia, Antarctica and throughout Asia, and is an integral part of the PHI Group of worldwide companies.  We are seeking applications from suitably qualified pilots for the pivotal position of Chief Pilot (Head of Flight Operations) for our Australian Operations.

Reporting to the Director of Flight Operations (International), the Chief Pilot (HOFO) Australia will be responsible for the control and review of operational standards and practices standards and safety and regulatory compliance under the CASA AOC.  Interested applicants should have experience in multi-engine IFR helicopters together with operational management, leadership or supervisory experience with the following minimum qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in helicopter operations
  • Australian ATPL (H) or equivalent
  • Command Instrument Rating
  • 3000 hours on helicopters
  • 1500 hours PIC on helicopters
  • 1200 hours on multi-engine and multi-crew helicopters
  • Experience in glass cockpit helicopters essential
  • Instructor rating or prior checking and training experience is preferred.

Based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate, we are looking at a salary band of AU$200,000 to AU$230,000.
