About this opportunity

The Youth Residential Rehabilitation (YRR) Program aims to provide support and care for young people who are experiencing mental health issues and/or those suffering from a functional disability. The program aims to provide psychosocial support as well as education and access to other external facilities and services that can assist the participants of the program.

Wellways Community Recovery model recognises that early intervention, building resilience and skills and developing positive relationships will help young people re-engage in developmental pathways and go on to spend the least time possible in formal mental health services.

As a Support Worker, you will deliver a variety of services to participants to support them to live a fulfilling and meaningful life in the community. The program is delivered in a residential setting and is tailored to suit and help each individual's specific needs as well as their family/carers needs and may include: assistance and or support with daily life, including personal care, domestic activities, social and community participation, varying skill development activities and many more.

You are a passionate and empathetic person whom relishes a challenge and is ready to have a long lasting positive impact on the lives of those in need. You are able to work as part of multidisciplinary team under guidance of a manager as well as being proactive and independent when required. You are a flexible, driven individual who is ardent in the face of change.

What you need:

Certificate 3 or 4 in Mental Health, Disability, Aged Care or Home and Community Care
Current valid Driver's Licence and registered vehicle (including insurance)
Satisfactory Police Records Check and Working with Children Check
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
