We offer an inclusive work environment and engage, recognise and develop our employees. About the role: We are currently seeking an experience Mining Engineer to join our Coppabella mine site. Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets. Reporting to the Operations Technical Superintendent, you will be required to develop and implement mine designs and schedules in line with production requirements. Monitor, track and report on performance against the mine schedule, site budget and ensure compliance within safety, environmental, legislative and statutory requirements. Duties will include: Develop, implement and uphold safe and efficient work practices at all times; Develop and distribute; schedules and designs to ensure efficient use of site resources and achievement of required quality Maintain and ensure reports are kept up to date whilst identifying opportunities for improvement and cost savings Ensuring maximum optimisation is reached whilst abiding by safe work practices and environmental regulations Monitor progress of operations to ensure short and long term plans are consistently met within site budget constraints Build positive working relationships with both internal and external parties Assist in developing budgets and forecasts as required. The lifestyle: This position is offered on a Monday to Friday roster with 1 rostered Friday off per fortnight and can allow for a residential, DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. About You: Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering, or comparable degree Experience in open cut mining operations within the coal industry At least 2 year's experience as a Mining Engineer across Dragline and /or Drill & Blast and/or Truck Shovel. Proven site experience in the timely and cost efficient planning of mining activities and associated tasks for a large open-cut mine Possessing the ability to design whilst taking into account pit design, ground conditions and environmental constraints Demonstrated experience with and sound working knowledge of Vulcan and MS Excel - advanced level Demonstrate experiences and savings from Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives Excellent planning and organising skills, and ability to enlist help as necessary to deliver outcomes Strong communication and interpersonal skills Uncompromising commitment to safety and the environment.
