Job Summary:
  • Preparation of monthly and annual financial data UK entities,
  • Assist with the preparation of budget and forecast financial data
  • Ensure local financial controls and processes are in place, operating effectively and in compliance with Group requirements
  • Manage transactional finance team based in Chippenham
  • Interaction with the other teams




Principal Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for timely and accurate compilation of the actual data at month end for review by the Financial Controller.
  • Supporting the Financial controller to deliver the Half Year and Year End audits
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for onward review by the Financial Controller
  • Collaborate with the Cost Centre Owners to review actual expenditure each month and to use this data to assist with the monthly reforecasting process and annual budget cycle.
  • Responsible for ensuring all local revenues are invoiced in a timely manner and in accordance with what is provided from the business in accordance with third party contracts
  • Responsible for monitoring aged debt and credit control for local entities
  • Ensure that local controls are effectively designed and documented and that all controls are operating effectively, thus maintaining an "audit-ready" state for all local entities
  • Oversight and checking of local payment runs
  • Responsible for timely submission of VAT returns, EC Sales Listing and Intrastat
  • Responsible for ensuring timely completion of National Statistics Returns
  • Oversee core processing team and support the Financial Controller in identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiencies


  • Set the performance objectives of the team and provide feedback both informally and formally via the appraisal process
  • Support team members in their development and manage any adverse performance against objectives
  • As required, support with any integration projects or ad-hoc requests, projects or analysis
  • Good systems knowledge and the ability to carry out system administration tasks as required


REQUIREMENTS
  • Fully qualified accountant with at least 2 years post qualified experience in a commercial environment
  • Strong people management skills
  • Record of delivery against reporting timetables and deadlines
  • Strong core accounting skills
  • Proven track record of developing others
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and strong willingness to implement change
  • Flexible interpersonal skills needed to work with people at all levels of the organisation
  • Experience of working in multiple currencies
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
