The right candidate will be experienced, dedicated and hard-working with the ability to work well within a team. Key responsibilities will be ensuring the accurate maintenance of the nominal ledger and production of accurate management accounts on a monthly and ad hoc basis. They will ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are received in a timely manner and will maintain the Fixed Asset Register, in order to accurately prepare the year-end financial statements and finance record. The job holder will manage an Income and Expenditure team.

Description

  • Ensure the accurate maintenance and integrity of the nominal ledger. This includes oversight of reconciliations of the all Balance Sheet accounts against nominal ledger balances on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in the production of management accounts on a monthly basis for Senior Management Team and budget holders, including actual against budget comparisons and aged debtors analysis.
  • Support the line managers in the production of annual budgets and in-year forecasts.
  • Production of the Statutory Annual Accounts and the organisations Finance Record.
  • Liaise with the Internal and External Auditors during site visits.
  • Ensure the accurate maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register. Monitor the disposal of fixed assets in line with organisations Policy.
  • Accurate reconciliation of Capital Grants.
  • Conduct a final check of all payments made to creditors against supplier invoices in liaison with the Head of Finance.
  • Conduct ad hoc checks on daily cash banking.
  • Oversee and undertake journal entries for adjustments to the nominal ledger.

Profile

The ideal candidate for the Finance Manager position:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant with relevant working experience
  • Experience of managing a Fixed Assets register
  • Experience of preparing management accounts and leading budget holder meetings
  • Experience of managing teams/staff
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Experience of complex reconciliations
  • Experience of preparing Statutory Annual Accounts
