This is a financial accountant position within the UK office of a large, international organisation. The role itself will be a hands on role working amongst a team.

Description
- Assisting the Finance Manager in preparation of monthly financial reporting and ensuring all local and key corporate reporting deadlines are met.
- Producing the monthly balance sheet and cash flow actual and forecast reports within the reporting deadlines for review by Finance Manager.
- Producing timely, accurate and complete financial information for the purposes of the annual budget process.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis and ensuring any outstanding items are cleared in an accurate and timely manner.
- Continually review and improve internal VAT controls and produce monthly Vat returns in an accurate and timely manner
- Manage the completion of the EC Sales Lists and Intrastat on a monthly basis, ensuring the accuracy of all submissions
- Manage the BACs payment software and be the first point of contact for the Bank.
- Prepare and report on the Daily and Monthly Cash 'Liquidity' forecasts.
- co-ordinate and manage the audit of duty calculations and reporting in line with HMRC requirements.
- perform stock audits at various third party and company locations, ensuring accuracy of GL accounts.
- become a SAP FI Key user, to provide ongoing support, champion and guidance to the rest of the company.
- oversee the robustness of the stock purchase process to ensure the accuracy of the Balance Sheet in accordance to the 8th EU Directive. Oversee and manage all GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) control testing reporting
- Coordinate and prepare all PSA (PAYE Settlement Agreement) detail
- To continually review, update and test controls to ensure relevance and robustness
- To support on any adhoc projects and tasks as required by the Finance Manager
- To provide cover for team members in times of absence with relation to manual payments made via online banking system and all BACS payment runs according to the BACS authorisation procedure.
Profile
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Either moving from practice into industry, or having worked for a large, international business within industry.
- A track record of stability on the CV. My client is looking for this person to grow within the business and ensure this individual is committed to their long term future with the company.
- Experience in an accounting environment dealing with balance sheet and cash flow preparation and forecasting
- Experience of working to strict deadlines
- Good knowledge of IFRS
- Efficient in Microsoft office and lotus notes
- Excel skills to macro level
- Experience with SAP or similar accounting system
- Attention to detail and good problem solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
