Overseas Operations Accountant
Our established and award winning International Manufacturing client, an innovative and heritage market leader in their field is currently looking to recruit a new Overseas Operations accountant to be responsible for supporting the manufacturing accounting functions of their joint venture business in Sri Lanka and other sites.
Based out of their Northamptonshire offices, it is expected that the successful candidate will be required to make four to five international business trips per annum lasting between 1–2 weeks at a time.
As Operations Accountant, your varied and exciting core responsibilities will include: Ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of management information and work with local management and accounting teams to ensure that all group deadlines are complied with. To review and monitor return on sales targets and ensure variations are highlighted to management so effective action is implemented; To ensure that appropriate controls are in place to minimise financial risk and to measure operations efficiency and effectiveness; To work with local management to develop the reporting of management information for forecasting, budgeting and costing; To oversee half–year costing exercise and present changes to senior group managers as well as pro–actively monitoring and checking costings ongoing. You will also be responsible for pro–actively monitoring raw material prices and take effective action to ensure variances are minimised; Pro–actively monitor direct and overhead costs and take effective action to ensure adherence to budgets/forecasts. Ensuring the correct implementation of ERP functionality to maintain consistency across the Group for financial transactions and ensuring intercompany balances are agreed promptly in line with month end timetables.
The successful candidate will be a self–starter with excellent prioritisation skills, will be a determined, hands–on, driven, organised and confident Qualified or Part Qualified Management Accountant / Operations Accountant / Manufacturing Controller / Manufacturing Accountant with a proven background in manufacturing or engineering and costing. This role will require the successful candidate to challenge, facilitate and influence at all levels across the business. Strong ERP, business data evaluation and analytical systems skills are absolutely essential to this role as is a strong knowledge of MS excel. Advantageous (but not essential) to this role also would be any Sinhala/Tamil language skills.
