Chief Financial Officer/Bursar, University College Dublin

University College Dublin (UCD) is a dynamic, modern university, the largest in Ireland with a student population of over 32,000 and 3,500 faculty and staff. Informed by its mission to contribute to the flourishing of Dublin, Ireland, Europe and the world, UCD has developed an ambitious vision as set out in its Strategy 2015-2020 ‘Ireland's Global University'. The University now wishes to appoint a Chief Financial Officer/Bursar who will make a significant contribution to the achievement of this vision and UCD's future strategic development. Reporting to the UCD President, the Chief Financial Officer/Bursar will lead integrated strategic, financial planning and budgeting in all areas of the University including the building programme and the upgrade of campus facilities. The appointee will liaise with the University auditors and regulatory authorities and prepare statements and reports as required for the Finance Remuneration and Asset Management Committee, the Governing Authority and the Higher Education Authority (HEA). The ideal candidate will be an appropriately qualified, senior-level finance professional with a strong understanding of the higher education sector and experience in estates management and capital projects. Demonstrating an outstanding record of leadership, achievement and experience in the development and implementation of strategy in a large, complex organisation, he/she will have exceptional team leadership skills and the ability to build and nurture superior multi-level, internal and external working relationships. Commercial skills and business acumen are key priorities for the role in addition to a track record of championing an equal, diverse and inclusive working environment.
