One of the market leading housing associations is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to be based in Central London.

Client Details

One Housing helps people to 'live better' in high quality homes that are right for them in London and the south east. One manage around 16,000 homes and care for over 11,000 people to help them live independently.

We build and sell homes on the open market or rent them out commercially to raise money for urgently needed affordable homes and services for our customers. In the last three years we have delivered more than 1,500 new affordable homes to help meet the housing shortage.

Description

Reporting to the Director of Financial Management you will manage the Financial Accounting team and be responsible for the liaison with external auditors, ensuring a smooth and efficient year end process is executed. As a senior team member, you will be expected to forge good relationships with our pension providers and other external stakeholders, and develop a business partnership service within the company. You will have strong leadership skills and be part of a wider finance team who are customer service focuses.

Key duties of the role;

  • Responsible for preparing, consolidating and delivering One Housing's year-end Statutory Accounts in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Operating as a key member of the finance leadership team, working on projects that stretch across the function, making sure they are completed at the highest level and within the project time-line.
  • Lead on the processing and requirements of Payroll and Pensions across the Group.
  • Preparing reports and attending committee meetings as necessary in conjunction with the Director of Financial Management.
  • Manage significant and highly complex projects within time and resource constraints, whilst also ensuring day to day operational service is maintained.
  • Leading the Financial Accounting team, creating a results driven environment and team ethos.

Profile

You will be a fully qualified accountant or the equivalent who has previously worked in the social housing sector and has significant year end experience. We are looking for an individual with strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage an already established finance team. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical knowledge and possesses a natural interest in IT systems and digitalisation.

Job Offer
