The opportunity has arisen for an SME Financial Controller to join a growing legal firm based in the City of London.

My client is a London based legal firm with a multinational reach. They are within the Top 5 firms in their sector focus, and this space is growing well which is presenting further opportunities for the organisation to expand.

Description

As the Financial Controller you will report to the CFO and assist with strategic support while also running the day-to-day of the function and managing the team. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Management of the month end and year end processes, including preparation of the accounts with key analysis and commentary;

• Development of value-add management information packs with a key focus around KPI reporting;

• Oversight of the transactional team and a role in improving processes and performance;

• Key role in budgeting and forecasting processes including close work with non-financial stakeholder engagement;

• Continuous improvement of processes and driving a business partnering culture;

• Ad hoc projects (for example: pricing analysis and new office business cases).

Profile

As a strong applicant for this Financial Controller position you will:

• Be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong technical background;

• Demonstrate exposure to an SME environment where you have been comfortable in a hands on role (professional services sector exposure is advantageous);

• Have a background in developing MI packs and providing analysis to senior management;

• Show a proactive approach to process improvement and driving performance of a team;

• Possess strong management skills, ideally having already managed a team;

• Have excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to engage across the business at all levels.

Job Offer

The offer to the successful Financial Controller will be between £70,000-£80,000 dependent on experience + benefits including bonus, pmi, and pension.
