Description
Organisational Relationships
Reporting to the CEO. Part of the Senior Leadership team. Advising the Board of Trustees and Committees where appropriate; working with other support roles and the HR Manager on organisation development.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Senior leadership
- Working with the CEO and the senior leadership team to provide effective strategic leadership of the organisation
- Working across the organisation helping to develop and deliver on strategic priorities and manage change (provide financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans and proposals
Corporate Governance and Risk Management
- Oversee the external audit, review and analyse results with finance/audit committee and implement any required actions
- Ensure that the Control framework (including delegated authorities) is appropriate, operational and effective
Maintain policies/registers for Conflicts of Interest, Related Parties and Gifts/Bribery
Ensure the security of Charity assets (Working closely with the Investor to review)
- To act as Company Secretary for all legal entities and to ensure good practice and regulations.
Finance and Accounts
- Lead and develop the finance function and team.
- Lead the annual business planning and budgeting process, and ensure timely quarterly/monthly reports on overall and individual departmental financial positions against budget
- Prepare statutory accounts.
- Oversee the payroll function.
- Provide financial modelling and an appropriate framework for financial decisions
- Maintain financial records and policies to meet legal and tax requirements in line with best practice.
- Manage banking relationships and ensure effective cash flow and timely payments
- Maintain accurate and up to date balance sheet
- To oversee the process for managing the Charity's financial reserves and to support the Trustees in their responsibilities.
Leadership / Interpersonal Skills
- Positive leadership and highly effective in managing, developing and engaging an operational team.
- To develop and manage excellent positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- To work collaboratively with the senior management team developing credibility and supporting the delivery of improvements and change.

Legal and other matters
- Oversee corporate legal compliance including Charity Commission and other regulatory filings.
- Responsible for risk management.
- Monitor changes in legislation and the regulatory environment.
- Prepare for and attend internal Committees and Boards as required.
- Advise on contract matters (with specialist legal expertise where required).
- Oversee building lease and insurance matters.
