Senior Management Accountant

This is an opportunity for a newly qualified ACA to join a growing retailer and be part of their growth story. You will have a good blend of commercial and technical accounting work to get involved with and report directly into the Finance Director.

My client is an original, design led womenswear brand that has grown from strength to strength since its conception, without compromising its integrity as a trusted retailer and a market leader. It has recently become a part of a listed retail conglomerate, which will further fuel the Company's growth and open up new development prospects.

Description

Month End: Following month-end procedure including posting P&L (including margin calculation) and Balance sheet journals for number of International entities

• Budget: uploading budget prepared by Commercial Finance

• Costs analysis - analysing costs and variances to budget / forecast during monthly review process. Working closely with Commercial Finance to ensure cost accuracy

• Staff costs - monthly postings of wages, salaries and bonus accruals within International entities, reconciliation of wages and salaries from payroll system to amounts paid and ensuring wages, PAYE and NI are paid to local employees / governments

• Reporting: Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow preparation on monthly basis

• Property:

• Liaising with International AP Coordinator to insure that rent is paid on time,

• Liaising with local landlords, internal legal department, JV partners as and when needed

• Accruals: reviewing monthly fees to ensure invoices not received are accrued

• Prepayments: maintaining and reconciling prepayments schedule for group of entities

• Creditors:

• Reviewing the aged creditor report with International AP Coordinator

• Cost recharges to and from my client and other brands in the Group

• Balance sheet reconciliation - sole responsibility of all balance sheet accounts for International entities

• Foreign transactions translation - ensuring that monthly transactions posted onto accounting system per business unit are posted in three currencies: reporting, local and transaction currency

Audit

• Main contact during yearly statutory audits for foreign entities

• Responsible for preparing all necessary information for local auditors in timely manner. Liaising with UK auditors during yearly audits

• Preparation of financial statements for foreign entities in local currency for local reporting requirements

Tax & Compliance

• Preparation of Income Statement and Balance Sheet in the format that is needed for tax returns, as requested by Director of Tax

• Capital allowance calculations, using standard capital allowances templates

• Assistance with completion of national statistics surveys for foreign entities

Profile

• ACA qualified

• Proficient in Excel (Sums, Pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, etc.)

• Previous experience using Sun would be beneficial but not essential

• Resilient, very well organised and able to manage own time and deadlines with minimal supervision

• Flexible and positive approach, prepared to get involved with new tasks / projects

• Collaborative, strong team player, prepared to oversee and help others in the team

• Retail background and / or experience of multisite operations preferable, but not essential
