Homes for Unwanted Greyhounds (HUG)is a registered charity located in the Republic of Ireland which aims to find loving homes for retired racing greyhounds, and to promote a positive image of the breed as pets throughout Ireland and beyond. Run by a small team of dedicated volunteers throughout the country, we work towards the day when no greyhound is destroyed for lack of a home.
We are looking for a volunteer with experience and background in bookkeeping & financial reporting.
Our finance volunteer will be responsible for maintaining accurate and updated financial information and for ensuring that efficient administration systems are in place to support the day to day operations of HUG.
-Book-keeping, travel expenses logs and compiling monthly bank reconciliations.
-Maintenance of Management accounts including Profit and Loss sheet, Balance Sheet, Debtors and Creditors.
-Assist in preparing accounts for annual audit and liaise with the auditors to ensure completion of audited accounts on time.
-Support Directors with budgeting and reporting
-Take a lead on interpreting financial data and make the board aware of outstanding obligations, financial discrepancies or risks.
-Explore and implement new financial systems and processes as we expand.
