My client is a leading sports consumer products manufacturer from the US. With the growth of the global sportswear industry, they have subsequently experience a massive growth in the recent years, while expanding the current manufacturing plants as well as establishing new plants throughout the APAC region.

As part of their business needs, they are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their Greater China accounting team.

about the role

Reporting to the Financial Controller and leading a team of junior accounting staffs in HK and their China office, you will take up an all rounded finance and accounting role. Your key responsibility is to support the Financial Controller on in depth data analysis, also providing commentaries towards variance and any queries made by the Financial Controller and the senior management.

At the same time, as a team lead to the accounting function, you will be reviewing the bookkeeping works done by the Accounting Assistants in HK and China office, while ensuring the accuracy of the information and data before proceeding to closing and financial reporting. Moreover, as a leading role, you will be providing guidance to the junior staffs, hence some travelling to their China office will be required (30%).

This role is going to be crucial to the finance team, and the Finance Director expects this person to be developing a promising career within their organisation as the company grows rapidly, which also gives you the chance to involve in projects including system enhancements, accounting policies fine tuning, etc.

skills and experience required

• 6 or more years of Accounting and Finance experience, ideally having exposure in products manufacturing, trading and distribution industries with China operations
• Prior external audit experience is crucial to this role
• Previous exposure on China accounting standards and VAT
• Excellent Excel skills with excellent sensitivity to numbers
• Driven, responsible and a good team leader
• Articulate and well-presented. Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
• Degree holder in Accounting, Finance or other relevant disciplines
• Open to travel to China (30%)
