Company and Role Summary

Our client has been pioneering project consultancy practices in Australia for more than 30 years. They continue that tradition, helping their clients maximise return on capital employed in major property, infrastructure and business projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process monthly payroll journals and accruals
• Reconcile labour costs across 15 organisations
• Process employee entitlements accruals
• Assisting with forecasting revenue/EBITDA
• Calculate cross labour revenue sharing across business streams
• Maintain fixed asset register
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Prepare monthly payroll tax for each state
• Liaise with company auditors during annual audit and prepare audit schedules
• Liaise with company tax advisors and prepare necessary information to ensure timely and accurate submission of company tax returns.
• Prepare and lodge FBT annual return, calculate reportable FBT and superannuation
• Cash flow forecasting, update cash balances
• Company insurance policies - co-ordinate policy renewals, respond to requests for information; liaise with brokers and Corporate
• Procure and maintain Workers Compensation insurance policies
• Prepare business stream and regional reports
• KPI analysis/financial analysis, and scenario analysis
• Critical review of month end financials, including KPI and ratio analysis
• Provide backup in absence of Accountant on accounts receivable accounts payable
• Ad hoc reporting and analysis as required
• Responding to Corporate and Audit requests as required

Requirements:

• CPA, Degree qualified in Accounting
• Minimum 5 years Australian accounting experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of regulatory/tax and legal requirements
• Highly experienced with Accounting systems and Microsoft packages, advance Excel. Vision ideal, but not essential.
• High degree of accuracy , exceptional attention to detail
• Analytical, interpreting questions
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Highly commercial, able to apply technical knowledge to business
• Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
• Hands on, team player and confident
