Opportunity for newly qualified accountants to join a fantastic and well-established publishing brand located in the heart of London.
You will have full ownership over the group accounting process and will be given the opportunity to gain exposure to other areas of finance through a number of ad hoc project work.

My client is a very well known publishing brand located in the heart of London near Tottenham court Road. They represent a number of immediately recognisable novels and titles and that have made a market in pop culture.
The company has been doing remarkably well in the publishing space, experience consistent and healthy growth for a number of consecutive years. They currently boast a £140 million turnover and are actively seeking to expand the digital arm of their brand.
Description
Main duties:
Month end
Prepare monthly consolidation adjustments
Preparation of Group dashboard, Group Stock dashboard, P&L, balance sheet and cash flow on a monthly basis
Year end accounts
Prepare the interim and year end consolidation adjustments
Preparation of interim and year-end reporting packs and schedules
Preparation of Group consolidated interim and year-end financial statements
Assist the HoGF with preparation of the Annual Report
Preparation of the subsidiaries' financial statements, ensuring that transactions are accounted for in the appropriate entity
Preparation of annual pension scheme accounts of a subsidiary
Intercompany
Prepare monthly intercompany account reconciliations and matrix for the Group
Posting of certain intercompany transactions, i.e. recharges and interest
Managing the intercompany process including working capital flows and FOREX exposure
Revenue
Review accounting treatment for new unusual revenue contracts
Analyse the expected impact on Bloomsbury of the new revenue standard controls
UK/Group finance internal control assessment and improvements
Ownership and maintenance of the Group finance manual
Other
Ad hoc project work and analysis
Dealing with audit queries
Profile
As the successful candidate you will be:
- A newly qualified accountant through practice
- Have had exposure to clients with group and complex accounts
- Very strong IFRS & UK GAAP knowledge
- Exposure to stock management is preferred but not essential
- proactive, ambitious, and keen to be mentored by top-tier senior management
Job Offer
My client is ready to offer up to £53,000 depending on experience, with an excellent benefit package.
You will have the opportunity to be mentored by the FD, H of Financial Reporting, and gain a great deal of exposure to the M&A and FP&A team through ad hoc project.
