Role Finance Administrator - Assistant Management Accountant Unit Financial Control Directorate Financial Operations Reporting to: Finance Operations - Cost Accountant Role Purpose/Summary Role is for a newly qualified financial/management accountant looking to expand on their skill and to join and support a busy financial control function in particular in relation to providing financial analysis and monthly management reporting. Financial Accounting Assisting with performance reporting including preparation of accurate and timely reports and variance analysis Investigate, analyse, challenge and report on material movements, trends and variances in monthly results with particular responsibility for project budgets, programme support budgets and specific administrative budgets (TBD) Assist with month end financial accounting processes i.e. management accounts, journals etc. Assist with Pobal Budget and forecasting - Assist with development of Resource Planning reports for wider management linked to Payroll/Service offers Provide business with ad hoc/project support and timely query resolution. Assist in the preparation of year-end audit files and liaising with auditors Maintain the Fixed Asset Register - Liaison with other finance functions/directorates as appropriate Assisting and Deputising for cost accountant/management accountant as required Information Management Ensure data is collected in appropriate format and reported as required Assisting in preparation of management information including variance analysis, update on KPI's for Unit Ensure the integrity of information flow between the interfaces between the various software systems in use Risk Management/Data Quality Assist in the review/revision of current procedures and processes Develop new solutions through system development in order to ensure quality of management information Assist in the identification and reporting of issues of risk both from programmatic and corporate perspective Assisting in development and implementation of Unit Business Plan and management of same Other Any other duties within the general requirement of the role which may be required from time to time Be self-motivated, proactive and flexible Contribute to staff meetings and other internal meetings with appropriate content, views and suggestions. Critical Competencies Attention to detail - Level 3 Communication skills - Level 3 Team work - Level 3 Customer Service and support - Level 3 Analytical skills - Level 3 Other competencies Building and maintaining relationships - Level 3 Corporate writing skills - Level 3 Flexibility and adaptability - Level 3 Problem solving and decision making - Level 3 Organisation awareness - Level 3 Required Experience Proven strong financial management experience and knowledge Experience of working within a framework of confidentially Proficient in use of integrated financial accounting systems and reporting s packages e.g. Sun System Proficient in MS packages e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook Qualifications Professional recognised accounting qualification is essential i.e. ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA Other relevant Information Desirable: Knowledge of workings of the community/voluntary/public sector - Knowledge of CRM, Sharepoint, Power BI systems - Knowledge of Government Accounting Regulations Understanding of the Irish language - Drivers licence & provision of car for business purposes Terms and conditions of Employment Duration of Contract The contract is for a period up to the 31st December 2018, subject to continuance of Government funding Probation A probationary period of six months will apply Pension : Employees have access to the scheme on successful completion of their six-month probationary period Annual Leave Current staff will retain their entitlement to annual leave days Travel & Subsistence Travel and subsistence will be paid at public sector rates Location of the position The successful candidate will be located in the Dublin Office
