The company is a forward thinking, PE backed and constantly offering challenges to get involved in. With a turnover in excess of £100 million and a group customer base of over 90,000 the has a well-deserved reputation as experts in their field. The company has over 500 staff and 30 within the finance team.

Description

  • Build and maintain the suite of management accounts, ensuring appropriate design reflective of the business requirements and possible future updates/changes

  • Prepare and deliver the monthly management accounts. Take ownership for the accuracy and delivery within agreed timescales

The responsibilities of the Management Accountant role are, but not limited to -

  • KPI reporting and commentary, bridge and variance analysis

  • Provide insight on results, trends and future projections

  • Build a detailed working knowledge of the cost base of the business. Partner with the budget heads to ensure the accurate recording and allocation of costs within the GL

  • Design and delivery of suite of cost reports to budget heads and senior management

  • Month end processes as required, to include (but not limited to); accruals, prepayments, BS reconciliations

  • Quarterly and annual forecast and budget preparation

  • Review, improve and maintain existing models. Design of new models as required

  • Provision of necessary support to the Finance Management Team

  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and processes

  • Continually review processes and make recommendations for improvements within Finance and other areas of the business to ensure that we have effective and efficient workflows in place

Profile

The ideal candidate will have the follow -

  • Qualified CIMA

  • Educated to degree level in a numerate discipline

  • Demonstrable ability to analyse large and complex data sets

  • Advanced excel level essential (Advanced and custom functions, multiple nesting formulas, array formulas, advanced dashboard design, dynamic ranges, slicers etc)

  • Create/maintain complex financial forecasts/budgets. Implementation of best practice in design (model workflows, link maintenance, scenario analysis, trackers, etc)

  • Ability to work with colleagues at all levels and to provide constructive challenge and feedback where necessary

  • Demonstrate confidence and collaboration in building sustainable working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Comfortable providing challenge to peers and senior management

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Demonstrate an analytical approach and sound business acumen

  • Ability to understand and interpret key drivers of the business

  • Proficient in prioritisation of own workload, managing multiple and conflicting priorities and providing regular updates

  • Take ownership for continued self- development and improvement in both personal and professional capacities

  • Team player with the ability to flex requirements to meet the needs of the business
