The Role

Forresters are currently recruiting a full time Credit Controller for their Birmingham Office. The Credit Controller will assist in the collection of debts and day to day activities relating to the requirements for electronic billing systems. Some flexibility will be required and duties will be organised according to business needs.

The post holder must be able to work as part of a team and take a customer services orientated view of their role and provide a quality and professional service to all internal customers and to assist in meeting the requirements of the firm.

Duties:


  • Opening new clients on Exchequer
  • Performing AML and credit checks re new clients using SmartSearch
  • Assisting in collection of KYC information
  • Ensuring the partners and fee earners are informed of any high risk clients to minimise the firm’s exposure to bad debt.
  • Sending monthly statements
  • Completing e-billing returns for specific clients
  • Collecting outstanding debt via telephone/fax/email and letter
  • Monitoring (via aged debt report) all accounts to establish ways of reducing debtor days and maintaining them at an acceptable level
  • Assistance in the resolution of disputes and queries
  • Liaising with clients/partners and all other internal staff
  • Assisting other members of the credit control department

Skills and requirements:
  • A flexible approach to work organisation.
  • An ability to communicate at all levels via email, telephone and face to face.
  • Able to work under pressure and on own initiative.
  • Well organised with a flexible approach and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Demonstrable IT skills, particularly MS Excel and web-based applications.
  • An understanding of billing deadlines and impact on revenue.
  • Billing and/or E-billing knowledge.
  • Friendly and enthusiastic.
  • A proactive versatile team player.
  • A keen awareness of, and the ability to apply, procedural guidelines.
  • Articulate and professional in manner.
  • Demonstrates a desire to learn and develop skills.

Start date: ASAP

Qualifications
  • At least two years credit control experience.
