Job Summary The Director of Quality is accountable for the formulation and execution of a viable results-oriented quality strategy for the company This position will compile report and project manage product quality issues lead the worldwide repair services and the training of customers field service technicians The position will develop manage and lead quality improvements working in partnership with sales engineering procurement and operations to drive changes and the highest possible quality of products and service for the company Customers reported quality issues repair center services and in field training will provide inputs to key product issues This role will improve and maintain an effective robust quality management system QMS processes and methods and will utilize metrics to continually improve product quality Provide leadership and direction to the Company project management technical competence outstanding communication skills pragmatism a bias for action and logical approach to problem solving with internal and external clients Accountabilities Responsibilities There are 3 key responsibilities for this position 1 Quality reporting and communication 2 Training our customers and field sales personnel on basic Printer maintenance and repairs 3 Managing our repair services WW Quality Reporting and Communication Collect field quality data summarize and communicate those issues to Product Management Plant and Executive LeadershipWork both independently but in coordination and in conjunction with peers product management and operations to determine key quality issues for prioritization and monitoring of the corrective actionsDirect the development and implementation of world-class standards-based quality reporting and response processes Develops identifies and initiates improvements to the quality management and reporting systems to ensure field quality issues are captured properlyEstablish coordinate and measure quality issues globally and work with the leadership team to prioritize those to be resolved Monitor quality improvement initiatives for status updates to management and the field Write monthly Quality reports and hold monthly quality meetings with the executive staff Prepare any necessary external communications on quality issues status and corrective actions Provides crisis leadership and guidance in the event of a recall field action or significant field quality issue providing direction and solutions Repair Service Management To perform Receipt Inventory Management repair process Pick and Pack and shipment back to customers or the plant To perform the inspection and diagnosis of returned products to determine cause analyze and summarize quality issues Determine the optimal repair service strategyHire manage and coach staff and help them develop their skills and abilities to meet high quality standards schedules and productivity requirementsEstablish and monitor departmental goals and objectives Field Training Conduct Level 1 training for customers and in house sales personnel including printer maintenance adjustments cleaning and minor repairConduct Level 2 Training for service and repair centers including major shuttle repairs JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS Strong Knowledge of root cause analysis tools and processes e g 8D 5 Why Lean and 6 Sigma techniquesGood Statistical analysis skills to understand cause and effect root cause and trending Knowledge of quality-in-design tools and processes e g DFMEA Fishbone Diagrams Solid project management experienceAbility to develop relationships with a culturally diverse group of key stakeholders within the companyExcellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills including experience in making presentations during meetings and training sessions time management and project management skillsExperience with Microsoft and other quality based applications and ability to learn internal computer systemsWillingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamworkAbility to work flexibly and adjust to changing priorities and unforeseen eventsDiplomatically address sensitive issues confidentially and professionallyWork independently and consistently in a fast paced environmentTraveling is required for this position Education and Experience12-15 years of progressive experience in quality with positions of increasing responsibilityExperience in assembly and machining manufacturing with plastics electronics and metalsExperience working in a multi-national company with multiple locations throughout the worldBA BS in Engineering Business preferably an MBA
