We currently have an excellent career opportunity in our Trinidad office for the position Accountant. The selected candidate must have a broad knowledge of accounting and finance concepts and utilize independent judgment to complete assignments and resolve issues. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following. Responsibilities: Perform general accounting activities including reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts and review of financial results. Preparation and review of journal entries Review of expense reimbursements and Accounts Payable payments to ensure transactions are in accordance with company policies and procedure Preparing the following: Monthly Corporation Tax computation Quarterly tax review (Green Fund Levy and Corporation Tax) Value Added Tax (VAT) review Reviewing and maintaining schedule for WHT and ensuring remittance on time to IRD Preparation of Bank reconciliations Preparation of cash flow statements Assist with accurate and timely close of accounting cycle Prepare Monthly Management Accounts Supervision of Staff Assist with special projects as required and any other ad hoc duties that may arise To qualify, candidates must have: a professional accounting designation ie. ACCA, CA, CIMA, CPA approximately 3-5 years' experience in a professional atmosphere in a finance/ business capacity a minimum of 2-3 years supervisory experience ability to understand the expectations of customers and deliver service that meets or exceeds customers' needs within policy guidelines the ability to identify and resolve issues that impact the delivery of quality service excellent verbal and written communication skills a positive, "can-do" attitude and approach to responsibilities; the ability to assist and support leadership in addressing new challenges and changes strong teamwork, collaboration, and support skills across different organizational teams
