Job Title: Financial Accountant Location : Jamaica Market Summary/Objective : To provide accurate and comprehensive financial information for the monthly Financial Reports. Execute budgetary controls and forecasting, along with department operational expenditure monitoring. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Operating Expenses Manage, review and approve POs and all postings to the assigned functional department in line with Opex budget Manage and monitor all postings and ensure correct reporting on assigned balance sheets and Profit & Loss areas assigned Liaise with assigned department heads informing them of current and forecasted expenditure, providing guidance and obtaining information to accurately forecast future spend Prepare and submit monthly detailed balance sheets and P&L schedules agreeing to the general ledger balances and ensure any outstanding issues are rectified in a timely manner Prepare weekly Opex forecast in line with input from department heads and POs raised while analysing spend for variances and providing appropriate explanation Update monthly Opex commentary based on monthly performance for inclusion in Board report Assist FM in the preparation of the annual budget for submission to FC/CFO Update monthly Opex journals and reconciliation schedules Any other assigned duties Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a Business Related and/or Accounting field ACCA/CPA qualified or level three exams 3+ years in Accounting and Reporting Familiarity with Accounting Platforms Knowledge of Great Plains is an asset Functional Skills: Strong communication skills Good problem solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel Flexible and commercial oriented Work efficiently and accurately Good time management skills Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines Attention to detail Use initiative Good presentation skills
