Financial Controller Sheffield £50,000 to £55,000 plus benefits

My client is a fast-growing subsidiary of a US owned life sciences business with a global presence. Due to growth they are looking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to oversee and manage financial reporting for the EMEA region.

The Role
Based in Sheffield and reporting into the EMEA Director and the CFO, key responsibilities will include:
*Direct all accounting activities and control information held in the accounting system (Great Plains), including reporting on a monthly basis into the US
*Review financial control and management information systems and procedures, identify and implement opportunities for improvement
*Produce monthly & quarterly management reports and management discussion summaries
*Produce year end accounts, supporting schedules and liaison with year- end auditors
*Lead the development of an integrated annual budget and forecasting updates throughout the year.
*Develop and maintain US GAAP compliance fully loaded product costs
*Lead the variance analysis for customer prices, product costs, and operating expenses. Coordinate the corrective actions with non-finance staff to ensure performance objectives are met.
*Identify current and anticipated foreign currency exposures. Coordinate with US HQ to implement risk management actions, including forwards, options, etc.
*Develop financial systems and processes integrating wider management information systems as appropriate and to develop and maintain effective internal audit and internal control processes
*Liaison with external parties including agencies, banks, auditors, system providers and HMRC

The Person
*Holds a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ ACCA or CGMA)
*Possesses a strong technical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques as well as planning budgeting and forecasting
*Has prior exposure to foreign currency, transactions, and risk management.
*Has built significant experience at the senior finance level within a medium to large multi-site global organisation, ideally within the manufacturing sector although this is not essential
*Has hands on exposure to computerised accounting systems (ideally with a knowledge of Great Plains) and the ability to develop robust data analysis and financial reporting to meet the needs of the business.
*Possesses strong communications skills with the ability to work with individuals at all levels across the business and non-financial employees
*Has excellent management skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
*Lives a can-do attitude with the ability to respond to change.
