Tax Manager, Leading Independent Accountancy Firm - up to £35,000

The Role

Barber McLelland are working as recruitment partners on behalf of a well-established independent firm of accountants based in Sheffield who are looking to appoint an experienced accounting/tax professional for the role of Corporate Tax Manager.

The practice are regarded as one of the regions leading firms, they provide a full range of accounting and taxation services to a highly varied client portfolio from small to medium sized owner managed businesses through to large corporate organisations.

The firm are happy to consider applications from individuals who are looking to take a step towards management or a qualified accountant who is looking to develop their career within a tax environment. Additional training will be provided along with study support for CTA for those seeking to complete the professional tax exams.

Duties and Responsibilities

Supporting the firms Taxation Partner, the role of Corporate Tax Manager will include:

• Advising business owners on a variety of tax matters
• Corporate tax compliance, including reviewing accounts files and draft computations and submissions of returns to HMRC
• HMRC correspondence
• Input into corporate advisory matters as required, eg; disposals, acquisitions, reorganisations and share buybacks
• Monitor submission and other key deadlines
• Participate in proactive planning, including liaising with Corporate Business Services and Personal Tax departments
• Prepare and submit R&D Claims
• Prepare share valuations
• Provide technical updates to colleagues
• Work closely with the Personal Tax Department to deliver an effective, all round tax service to clients including IHT, PAYE and NIC, etc
• Identify suitable potential new clients and attend meetings with prospective clients

Salary and Benefits
