Scope The Client Services Underwriter is expected to deal directly with the Beacon's Direct Customers, and will be empowered to act on The Beacon's behalf, have the ability to bind cover up to a specified amount, provide quotes, manage claims and receivables, deal with customer service issues and engage in marketing of Beacon's services. Key Responsibilities Main Activities Business development/revenue generation To bind coverage for quotations provided within the Unit in keeping with The Beacon's guidelines and provided Limits of Authority. Internal Operations To provide immediate Proof of Cover as may be required. To ensure the accuracy and efficiency of all entries made on Beacon's core operating system, LANSA. To issue and deliver all Policy and other Documents where necessary or required. To maintain the book of business under your purview by ensuring policies are renewed through continuous communication with the Customers. To continuously ensure compliance with all of Beacon's guidelines, manuals and corporate policies. To assist in the preparation of Monthly reports on business written and overall performance of the book of business under the branch purview. To control incoming and outgoing correspondences relating to the book of business under your purview. To collect premiums for all business (new and renewal) for which you are responsible. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Customer To provide personal and dedicated service to Beacon's customers. To provide technical advice to Customers when necessary. To continuously provide Customers with service through communication, and assisting them with queries. Efficient and timely handling of complaints or queries. Claims To provide assistance for claims service. Providing briefs to the claims department on the claimant and the respective risk(s). Receiving claim forms. Determining coverage or absence thereof. Providing guidance and updates to the Customer throughout the claim process. Qualifications/Criteria 5 CXC O' Level subjects including Mathematics and English Minimum of three (3) years' experience in general insurance underwriting. CII Certificate or equivalent or studying towards certification. A reliable and working vehicle. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge - The incumbent must be proficient in the following areas: All lines of general insurance Working knowledge of I90 will be an asset Microsoft Office Suite Skills - The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills: Excellent interpersonal skills Team player Effective verbal and listening skills Attention to detail Customer focused Personal Attributes - The incumbent must demonstrate the following personal attributes: Honest and trustworthy Reliable and flexible Ability to work unsupervised
