Division Description

The Finance & Accounting Division is made up of a number of core finance teams both at business unit and Group level. We perform a key management and control function in ensuring all Group financial and management reporting processes are appropriately governed. The Finance Division has overall responsibility for driving the Group budgeting and forecasting process, developing Group-focused financial insight and analysis and delivering the Group's statutory, regulatory and external reporting. We do this through collaborative business partnering in each of the Divisions and with centralised Finance shared / specialist services.

Description of business unit

Reporting Controls & Group Finance Assurance Team - 2 distinct teams.

The primary objectives of the Reporting Controls team are to plan, direct and guide the Financial & Regulatory Reporting Controls agenda to ensure the Group achieves its reporting objectives. This includes working with senior stakeholders across the Group to ensure they have adequately designed controls in place to mitigate financial reporting risk.

Purpose of the Role

As well as planning, directing and guiding the Financial Reporting Controls agenda for Group Manufacturing, this person is required to support the embedding of a successful reporting controls culture across the division and be a source of IFC excellence and expertise. You will also work with projects teams across IT@BOI to ensure all new applications/platforms are assessed for IFC and will support senior stakeholders in key areas of change e.g. CBS to ensure processes are documented and internal controls identified.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the internal controls over financial reporting compliance agenda across this division
  • Influence/guide/support process and control owners
  • Encourage and promote a questioning/challenging approach to the review of underlying processes/controls and the related control environment
  • Ensure that (a) key controls exist for the purpose of producing financial statements, and (b) these controls are designed adequately and operated to an agreed standard
  • Perform annual E2E review exercise of key processes
  • Perform annual scoping review exercise to ensure coverage across financial statement line items within the Annual/Interim Reports
  • Support the analysis of new processes

What is the opportunity

This role will help build strong working relationships across Group Manufacturing & Group Finance. It will allow you to take responsibility for our customers by considering them in your decision making, understanding the role you play in delivering appropriate outcomes for them and ensuring that you work together cross-functionally with our colleagues to serve them;

Allow you to significantly influence key internal stakeholders (including senior management and Statutory Auditor) and work collaboratively with them to deliver a more streamlined Reporting Controls Framework for the Group.

Gain an insight and better understanding of business processes across these divisions

Essential Qualifications

Qualified Accountant with 3 + years PQE or sound understanding of the Group Operating Model and Processes. Proven ability to work effectively with, and constructively challenge and influence the actions of stakeholders
