My client, an SME business based on the outskirts of Swansea is looking for a temp Financial Controller to join the team for approximately 3 - 6 month possibly ongoing.

As a result of significant growth, the financial controls and reporting are required to be improved for the business to sustain the growth achieved and also achieve future ambitious plans. The successful individual will manage a small finance team and be a member of the Senior Management Team.

The position will suit someone not just looking to be an Accountant, but a commercially driven individual who wants to succeed in providing strategic advise to the organization This role requires you to be involved in all areas of the business and contribute in meetings with Senior Management on a range of topics.

My client is seeking a Qualified by Experience or Qualified candidate for this level of role and is able to pay a salary of £35,000 to £40,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts
  • Oversee the P&L’s
  • Responsible for Balance sheet
  • Rolling monthly forecasts
  • KPI and reporting packs for senior management and the Board
  • Preparation of annual budgets
  • Preparation of year end accounts and first point of contact with external auditors
  • Mentoring and training of junior finance staff
  • Responsible for VAT returns
  • Improve processes and procedures within the department
  • Assist with the implementation of new IT systems
  • Communicate with all stakeholders effectively
  • Work closely with Directors and senior management on finance related issues

The profile will include -
  • Qualified or QBE accountant
  • Demonstrable management accounts and budgeting experience
  • Experience of completing year end accounts and working with external auditors
  • Have the ability to manage change and continuous development of systems and people
  • Ability to demonstrate strong IT skills preferably with some experience in finance systems development and implementation
  • The ability to challenge and question with an open mind
  • Microsoft Office including Advanced Excel
  • Sage 50
