My client is looking to bring on a senior IFRS specialist who can take a lead on the IFRS implementation project as well as run the group consolidation process. This is a great opportunity for you to join an acquisitive retail business that is on an upward trajectory.

My client is a premium international womenswear brand, with over 600 Stores and Concessions in partnership with leading retailers worldwide. The company has grown organically and through acquisition, taking full advantage of the international potential of each of its individual brands
Description
Group Consolidation for Management Accounts reporting (P&L, Balance sheet and Cash flow statement)
- Accounting for holding companies (predominantly for Bank loans interest, intercompany loans interest and similar)
- Intercompany recharges - intercompany transactions review, maintenance of intercompany loans matrix, intercompany interest, recharges between companies and similar
- Loan notes - accounting for interest across the group
- Investments - evaluation of investments, accounting for dividends, investments impairments if necessary
- Fixed assets - Group fixed assets note consolidation
- Financial reporting standards - run monthly journals for IFRS16 (using Innervision software, currently under implementation)
- Balance sheet - stock valuation, standard cost adjustments, provisions
Interim and Yearly Statutory Accounts
- Group Consolidation for Statutory Accounts reporting (P&L, Balance sheet and Cash flow statement)
- Yearly audit
- Main point of contact for yearly audit, co-ordinate with the team and with external auditors
- Review statutory accounts prepared by management accountants
- Advise on new accounting standards, statutory reporting disclosures and similar
- Other statutory requirements - onerous leases provisions, fixed assets impairments, returns provisions and any other complex accounting
Internal Audit
- Liaise with the internal audit team as and when needed
- Vat - quarterly review of UK Vat returns prepared by Vat Accountant
- Ad-hoc Internal audit projects
Ad-hoc finance projects
- Support CFO and Director of Group Finance by providing technical advice as and when it is needed
- Support Commercial finance by providing technical advice during budgeting
- Acquisition accounting, group restructuring, companies strike off and similar
- Sun system implementation , ad hoc advice in terms of consolidation, technical accounting and similar
- Concur expenses rollover
Profile
The successful candidate will:
- Be ACA/ACCA qualified
- Have signifcant years PQE
- Be more than comfortable with running complex multi-currency group consolidations
- Be familiar with new IFRS standards (specifically IFRS 9, 15 & 16)
- Have experience of implementing these new IFRS standards
