Based in Bristol, this leading accountancy practice has a highly successful and growing Audit and Assurance division with one of the largest teams across the region, delivering a range of services to large/medium corporates, PLCs, OMBs and AIM listed companies. Alongside this the firm has one of the leading Pension Scheme specialist divisions in the region, servicing schemes from around £10 million in assets, up to around £2 billion. Due to growth and a culture of internal promotion, excellent progression prospects are on offer for the right professionals looking to further their careers. The firms pensions team get significant exposure to the whole process, controlling the whole process with much more involvement in a client facing capacity, building relationships and involvement in business development. Alongside this the firm has a focus on work life balance, whilst not compromising on the quality of work and client range. This department also has more time office based, with around 30% out on the road, with less away work on offer so presents an attractive career move to those looking to carve a role in this specialist field

Description

Based in Bristol, you will join as Pensions Audit Assistant Manager and be responsible for providing pension schemes with an efficient and effective service working closely with the Manager/Senior Management and Director/Partner group, delivering a quality service. Clients will range in size from schemes with £10 million in assets, up to around £2 billion on largest schemes undergoing change, with significant growth and expansion in areas such as Master Trusts and other developments creating significant opportunity for advice and growth across the sector. You will benefit from involvement across the whole process with support from trainees/seniors and look to build relationships with clients, along with involvement in other areas across business development etc and therefore have a wide ranging role and responsibilities. Due to the growth in this area of the business there will be chance for rapid promotion in addition for the right people. The department is performing well, so has a high level of autonomy as a department and allows people a good level of self determination and destiny on their career direction, where you will be encouraged to develop areas of interest and specialism as you develop and progress within this field

Profile

You will be ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent and hold a professional qualification, ideally with anything up to 1 - 3 years or more, post qualified experience in your career now.

You will have developed a career within audit and assurance to around Supervisor/ Audit Assistant Manager levels . Whilst a pensions auditing background will be ideal (pension schemes - with a good working knowledge and technical application of accounts and auditing standards including the PensionsSORP), an auditing background in other sectors perhaps across financial services, or corporate audit can also work well, demonstrating an interest to develop your career in this field. Your experience is likely to have been developed within any of a medium/large independent firm environment, top 50, mid or top tier firm background.

The firm and environment allows the potential for people to work autonomously, with a good level of self initiative, who can structure and manage their time. You will be looking to develop your career within a leading firm with a clear path to progress on offer.

Job Offer

Circa £40,000 - £46,000 plus benefits, dependent on background and experience.
