Payroll Officer – Part time. 18.5 hrs maternity cover. Our client, based in Coalville is looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer on a part time basis to cover maternity. Being available on short notice, your role will involve the following;

•Provide an effective and efficient Payroll service which meets the customer's needs within current policies and procedures, best practice and legislation.

•Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on pay, pension information and respond to pay queries making necessary adjustments to payroll as required.

•Maintain central payroll files including year–end reconciliation data.

•Working collaboratively with HR to ensure all new starter information, variations, leavers, time sheets and other payroll related documentation is accurately entered onto the Trent system to meet required deadlines.

•Responsible for ensuring the absence information for staff is updated regularly and statutory obligations and payments are met including statutory sick, maternity, adoption and paternity pay

•To carry monthly pare–transmission audit checks including gross to net calculations, year–end reconciliations, variance reports and excessive net pays.

•To ensure pension's auto enrolment requirements are met and that monthly opt in and opt outs of the pension are accurately processed.

•To assist in pension administration and monthly data collections.

•To assist in the preparation of P11ds.

•Ensure timely submission and reconciliation of monthly and annual returns including RTI, year end, pension and other requirements ensuring timely payments.

•To provide and prepare reports as required by managers, the HR and finance teams.

•Assist the Finance Manager, Director of HR and Director of Resources to identify opportunities to improve the service and systems within the department.

•To maintain an up to date knowledge of payroll and pensions legislation

•To investigate variances of the monthly payroll nominals within the accounting software as advised by the Finance Manager.
