COST ACCOUNTANT

Dairy Industries (Jamaica) Ltd is seeking to recruit a COST ACCOUNTANT The position reports to the Finance Manager and is responsible for the management of the Cost Accounting System. Main Responsibilities Establish and monitor systems and procedures to enhance efficiencies in areas falling under his/her purview; Prepare monthly manufacturing reports including variance and ratio analysis between standard and actual production costs; Analyse changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods to determine effects on costs; Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs, policies and procedures for management of standards and financial planning; Manage inventories through physical counts and monitoring of cycle counts; Maintain the fixed assets register Assist with month end closure of the General Ledger. Skills and Experience Requirements Strong costing systems background, with excellent analytical skills and sound understanding of accounting principles Knowledge of SAP will be an asset. Proficient use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Audit and investigative skills and requirements of International Accounting Standards. Working knowledge of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems Team oriented ACCA Level 11, CIMA, or B.Sc. in Accounting Five years' work experience with at least two in Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment Qualified candidates are invited to submit applications no later than Friday, March 1, 2019.
