Venn Group are currently recruiting for a Chief Accountant to join a public sector organisation based in Bristol.
Location: Bristol
Salary: £64,894 - £72,105 per annum
Responsibilities:
- Act as the organisation's Deputy Section S151 Officer and deputise as statutory Chief Finance Officer in the absence of the Director
- Support the Director of Finance in playing a key role in the development of the organisation's financial framework and underpinning strategies and operational plans
- Determine the organisation's accounting policies and develop strong robust financial management and reporting arrangement, ensuring all policies and principles are consistently applied throughout the organisation
- Champion excellent management of financial resources, promoting probity, efficiency, high-performance and overall value for money
- Work to the organisation's core values, behaviours and inclusivity, fostering an environment that empowers staff and ensures they are enabled to achieve their potential
Required experience:
- CCAB/ACCA Qualified
- Have previous experience as a deputy Section S151 Officer or extensive experience covering the range of activities outlined in this role
- Extensive experience working within finance departments in the public sector
