My client is a community services company that helps those needing support within the community. They are a reputable company known on a regional basis and are aiming to grow their services. They are looking for an experiences accounts assistant to join their busy team in Potters bar on a temporary basis.

Description

The accounts assistants responsibilities are:

Accounts Payable

To log and process all purchase ledger invoices (c.2,000 invoices)
To complete authorisation process for invoices, including matching to delivery notes and order values and seeking appropriate management approval.
Dealing with supplier invoice queries
Chasing due credit notes from suppliers
Checking supplier statements to ledgers
Credit Control

Daily credit-control calls to customers, with necessary action taken to resolve disputes.
Weekly statement of debtors ledger distributed to directors
Pertinent information gained on customers to be entered onto CRM database
Early detection of maintenance invoice problems flagged with appropriate Account Manager
Liaise with solicitors on those sales invoices requiring legal intervention to conclude
To maintain efficient procedures to ensure prompt payment by customers / disputed invoices resolved

Sales Ledger


Posting of sales invoices to Sage (50 Accounts Professional) with specific VAT coding
Sales remittances posted to Sage
Daily reconciliation of spreadsheet to Sage's sales ledger
Cash Book

Daily Cash-Book maintenance for both receipts and payments
Monthly bank reconciliation
Cash Flow Forecast

Preparation of a weekly cash-flow forecast, covering a three-month period
Other ad hoc work for Financial Controller (to include quarterly management accounts preparation).

Profile

The accounts assistant must have:

Experience in a similar, broad role
Competent Excel user (v lookups and pivot tables)
Some Credit Control experience
Positive attitude
Highly organised, trustworthy and dependable
Desirable:

Sage experience
Available at short notice
